When rescuers arrived at an abandoned house, concerned neighbors shouted, “Are you going to save that dog?” Another neighbor added, “I fed him back when it was really cold.” According to the locals, the dog, hiding under the stairs, had been left alone for months after being abandoned by his owners.

Stray Rescue of St. Louis shared the heart-wrenching scene: “He shook so hard from fear he brought us to tears. He’s very dehydrated and hungry.”

Fortunately, the rescuers used food to gently coax the terrified dog out from under the stairs. They gradually earned his trust and brought him to safety at their shelter. Now named Olson, he is in a safe environment and on his way to finding a forever home.
