From Stray to Shelter Guest
Ronni, a cheerful pup, arrived at Dallas Animal Services (DAS), one of the largest municipal animal shelters in the United States, after wandering the streets as a stray. As soon as Ronni set foot inside the shelter, he immediately won over the hearts of everyone he met. Full of life and joy, he eagerly approached every person, proudly demonstrating what a friendly and loving dog he was.

“He was a happy, friendly, wiggly boy who was so excited to see his human friends,” said Marlo Clingman, Public Information Coordinator at Dallas Animal Services, to The Dodo.
The team at DAS is dedicated to finding loving foster or permanent homes for their animals as quickly as possible, and Ronni’s story was no exception. After patiently waiting, his perseverance paid off when a family reached out to offer him a foster home.
A New Beginning with a Foster Family
The day Ronni’s foster mom, Ashley, arrived to take him home, the pup could barely contain his excitement. From the moment he hopped into her car, he was all smiles and wagging tails.

Ashley captured a photo of Ronni, and it was clear just how much this moment meant to him. “His smile was so big, he couldn’t keep his eyes open,” she remarked, highlighting his sheer happiness.
Ronni seemed to understand that he was embarking on a new chapter. As soon as he stepped into his foster home, he knew he had found a place filled with love, fun, and lots of cuddles. He immediately showed his gratitude by being on his best behavior and showering his foster family with affection every chance he got.

“Ronni loves to play and would enjoy having a big doggie buddy or a friend for playdates. He’s equally fond of men and women—he loves his foster mom and dad for giving him a chance outside the shelter. He’s even met a toddler and greeted him with a big, sloppy doggie kiss!” said Marlo.
With his infectious smile and loving personality, it’s only a matter of time before Ronni finds his forever home. This charming pup is sure to bring joy and unconditional love to a family who will appreciate his playful spirit and warm heart.
