Stray Rescue of St. Louis first found Fallon Marie hiding under a car, a heavy chain draped around her neck.

The abandoned stray dog was left with the chain still attached, forcing her to drag it behind her. The weight caused her to droop her head in exhaustion.

Rescuers attempted to entice her with food, but she was initially very timid and nervous.

Once Fallon Marie was safely brought to their shelter, they finally freed her from the chain.

The chain, weighing a staggering 10 pounds, had been excruciating for Fallon Marie, who weighed only 31 pounds herself.

At last, she could lift her head! The look on her face when the chain was removed was absolutely priceless.
